What Clear Mind does with your information, what it will never do, and the limits of what it is for.
If you are in crisis
Clear Mind is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, don’t wait for the app — call 911, or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the US. Outside the US, contact your local emergency services.
Inside the app, emergency resources are always one tap away, and the assistant is instructed to encourage professional help in a crisis.
Your information is yours
In the app, Clear Mind uses your information for three things: showing you your own charts, trends and wellness score; creating your AI summaries and conversations; and sending the medication reminders you set. That is the whole list.
Health data is collected only with your opt-in consent. You grant each permission yourself — Health, Location and Notifications — and you can turn any of them off, or delete your account, at any time. Location is stored as categories of places, like “park” or “gym”, never as a map of your movements.
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. During the beta, no one at Clear Intelligence reviews users’ records or conversations.
What we never do
- Sell your data.
- Show you ads.
- Share your data with anyone for marketing.
- Use your data to train public AI models.
Your data is shared only with the providers that run the service — Amazon Web Services, which hosts our servers, database and AI processing — Google, which provides our email, and Apple, which collects crash logs from TestFlight beta apps. We would share it with authorities only if the law required it.
Not a replacement for care
Clear Mind is not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for psychiatrists, therapists, doctors, medication or professional care. Anything the assistant says — including about medication — is not medical advice. Decisions about your treatment belong with your care team.
Clear Intelligence is not a doctor, hospital or health plan, so health privacy laws like HIPAA do not apply to Clear Mind. Our privacy policy is our commitment to you instead.
How the assistant works
The assistant runs on artificial-intelligence services from Amazon Web Services, operating on our behalf. It sees only what you have chosen to share: your sleep and activity, your mood check-ins, your medications and profile, and your conversations with it.
Your conversations are deleted automatically after 30 days. The running profile the assistant keeps about your conversations is deleted after 180 days of inactivity.
It can be wrong. Use what it says to reflect and to prepare for conversations with your care team — not as a diagnosis or a treatment plan.
