Clear Mind

Why we built Clear Mind

Clear Mind started with our founder’s own experience living with Bipolar Disorder — and a firsthand lesson in how difficult navigating the mental health system can be. Diagnoses aren’t always right the first time. Finding the right medication can take months or even years. And sometimes one of the hardest parts is simply explaining what has been happening in your mind since your last appointment.

That experience also revealed a much bigger gap: most of the work of managing your mental health happens when you’re on your own. You’re responsible for remembering your medication, understanding changes in your mood, tracking how you’re sleeping, staying active, taking care of yourself, and recognizing habits or behaviors that might be affecting how you feel. There are apps that can track pieces of this—medication apps, fitness apps, sleep apps, mood trackers—but they exist in separate worlds. They don’t understand how all of those pieces may fit together, and they don’t help turn that information into a clearer picture of how you’re doing.

Our founder has spent a career building mobile technology and exploring how AI can make software more useful and personal. That background led to a question: What if we could bring all of these signals together and use AI to help people better understand themselves? What if your phone and the devices you already use could help you recognize patterns over time, stay consistent with the things that support your well-being, prepare for more productive conversations with your care team, and recognize when it may be time to reach out for additional support?

That’s why we’re building Clear Mind. The goal isn’t to replace psychiatrists, therapists, medication, or professional care. It’s to help fill the enormous space between appointments—where so much of mental health actually happens. Clear Mind is meant to become the companion our founder wished for at the start of that journey: one place that helps you understand your patterns, build healthier routines, keep track of the things that matter, and feel better prepared to communicate what you’re experiencing. And we’re building it alongside the people who will actually use it, because we believe the best mental health technology starts by listening to the people it’s meant to help.
